Wise Owl’s Milk Thistle capsules are a welcome re-introduction into the range.

There are restrictions on what can be said about herbs, but Milk Thistle, also known as Silybum Marianum, has been used for centuries as a medicinal plant by many cultures. This plant is native to Europe (and was introduced to North America by early colonists) and belongs to the Asteraceae family, which also includes sunflowers. The herb goes by a number of names including holy thistle, lady’s thistle, st mary thistle and blessed thistle.

The active agent of milk thistle is silybin (or silybinin), which is usually extracted from the seeds of the plant. Historically, people have used milk thistle to maintain stomach and liver health.
